Eligibility

Only medium-sized, non-food retailers (no chain stores) based in Europe are eligible to participate. This includes retailers from the member states of the European Union as well as other European countries.

EK Retail reserves the right to review your application to confirm your eligibility.

Submission criteria

A company can apply in multiple categories – for example, a retailer can submit entries for both the “Innovation” and “Sustainability” categories. The categories are intended as a guide. Each submission must include the completed entry form and visual material. Any content submitted, e.g. photos, must not be older than three years.

Requirements for visual material

Images should be at least 4000 × 7000 pixels in size, have a resolution of 300 dpi and be in JPG or TIF format.

It is important that the submitting company owns the image rights and grants EK Retail the right to report on the store and publish the submitted image(s) in both print and online media.

Photos are the best way to give the jury an overall impression of the store. For this reason, applicants should submit at least six photos showing different perspectives of the store.

Confirmation of the conditions of participation

By submitting its application, the company confirms that it has read and accepted the conditions of participation and legal information.

Participation fee

Participation is free of charge for members and affiliated retail partners of EK Retail. Retailers who are not affiliated with EK Retail must pay a one-time participation fee of €300 net.

Confidentiality and data protection

All information submitted will be treated confidentially and will only be used for the purposes of evaluation and publication related to the award.

Legal information

The submitting company ensures that all content submitted is not subject to third-party rights and does not infringe any copyrights, trademark rights or other rights.

Withdrawal and changes

EK Retail reserves the right to change the conditions of participation or to cancel the award at any time. Participants will be informed of any changes in good time.
